Emmarentia Dam provides a very safe training environment. It provides security to all new sailors by providing enough water to thoroughly learn boat handling skills.
The Club provides Sail Training Tuition to adults and children using a range of club boats.
Complete novices are generally started with the Topper, Flipper or Mirror allowing the Instructor or Coach to sail along with to give on board instruction. On gaining sufficient competence, the candidate will sail independently with the coach in a rubber safety boat alongside.
Single-handed and double handed sailing is catered for so that each sailor understands both roles as crew or helmsman, and is able to sail with others to enjoy the different technical skills and social aspects thoroughly.
